Hello ,

Frustrated?  You could say that!  As I made my way from room to room in the house I struggled with where in the world my glasses could be.  I'm one of those types of people who has some vision loss, but I get downright nervous whenever I've misplaced my spectacles...especially when I can't find them for quite a while.

This particular day was turning into one of those days when I knew it would take me a while to find them because they just weren't turning up.  I walked quickly from room to room looking in the usual suspect places (on the night stand, on the vanity in the bathroom, and on the shelf where I normally put my car keys).

Nothing!

Finally in slight desperation I called to my wife.  "Honey, have you seen my glasses?"

From the next room I heard two of my teenage kids laughing.  "Dad," one of them called out..."they're on your head."  I'm almost embarrassed to even share this story, but I take strange comfort in believing that most of the readers of the Open Word have probably done something similar...or at least I hope they have!

There's a spiritual lesson here...

Often, when we're out there looking for God in our lives, we just don't recognize that He is right here with us.  We may not always recognize that fact, but if we have turned our lives over into His control and keeping, we don't have to worry that He won't show up, or that we've somehow lost touch with Him.  

"...lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."

God is faithful, and He will deliver on His promises!
