I believe in the power of prayer. I have seen it provide things that were (seemingly) impossible. I have a prayer request that I would make of all The Open Word subscribers
today.
Two days ago my 91 year old mother was taken to the hospital, barely able to breathe and in real trouble with her health. She is currently in a hospital in New York State, and her prognosis is undetermined at this time. The doctors are treating her for pneumonia, but they also believe that there is a possibility of cancer as well.
I am asking everyone that I know to lift up my mom. She has a relationship with the Lord, she has lived a long life, and she also recognizes that bodies wear out. I am simply asking for prayer on her behalf that God's will is done. Her name is Thelma, and I am obviously very concerned. My family lives 1500 miles away, and I want to do what I can to support her (and my siblings) who are surrounding her.
There is a possibility that she COULD be on the mend, but honestly...it doesn't look promising at this point. I need discernment to make a good decision regarding whether to travel back home or not. I already had a flight booked in October (which is non-refundable), so if she is able to be on the mend...I will wait to travel there. I just need
the wisdom to know exactly WHAT to do. :)
