Hello ,

In the United States, we take a day each year to remember those who have fallen in the line of duty in our country's armed services.  As the director of The Open Word Daily e-Devotionals, I want to pause for a moment and say how thankful I am for the freedoms that we have in this country.  Men and women gave their lives to help preserve our freedom, and the idea that I can freely express my belief in God and in His mighty, saving power means a great deal to me.  

Today, let me urge you to take a few moments to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.  Freedom isn't free, and just like our eternal salvation cost Jesus Christ His life, our freedoms that we enjoy today have been purchased with a very steep price.  May God bless each family today, that is feeling the loss of someone who gave their lives in the military.
