Hello ,
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NKJV)
The attending physician walked into my room, sat down next to the bed, and took my hand. That Saturday evening, I had made my way to the emergency room as I was traveling, because I was in excruciating pain.
Kids were screaming, the place was noisy and chaotic, and my pain seemed unbearable. Something about his demeanor though, caused a calm to come over me. "Pastor Temple, it appears that you are having a bout with kidney stones," he softly said. "I have had those before, and I can tell you from experience that they can make you feel like you're going to die."
I'm not entirely sure why, but his presence in the room made everything seem better. My pain hadn't abated. I still felt like I was being physically turned inside-out; but I felt a sense of peace, knowing that someone else had traveled the same painful road as I was traveling on that snowy Saturday night.
Each of us can bring comfort to someone else who is trudging a similar road that have traversed in the past. We have unique opportunities to remind others that God is always there, and to be sources of comfort to them in their struggles.
If we allow God to work through us, each of us can make a difference in someone else's life.
Have a great day and God bless!
