Hello ,
Elizabeth is
now carrying a child, and as we move along in our story we see the angel Gabriel making another stop; this time in Nazareth to a girl named Mary who is espoused to be married to a man named Joseph.
The angel makes a pronouncement to the amazed girl, and we see something quite remarkable happen. Carrying a child while one is older is
almost unbelievable, and Zacharias is flabbergasted by the news he receives about Elizabeth. Bearing a child while a virgin is seemingly impossible. Mary quietly asks for more information. As soon as she receives that information, she lays her future plans at God's feet and becomes his willing servant with her life.
What
would happen in each of our lives if we became the willing servant of God with whatever we are asked to do? I have often asked that of myself over the years; what if I had chosen to follow God's direction and will in my life at an early age and continued on that path? May God help each of us to be more like Mary!
