Hello ,
Elizabeth is going to have a WHAT? Put yourself in the shoes of Zacharias. His wife Elizabeth is well beyond the years of a woman who is going to give birth to a brand new bundle of joy. They've prayed and prayed for children over the years, but they are well past a time of conception that Zacharias can wrap his belief system around. God is bringing a most powerful individual onto the scene who will begin to prepare the hearts of men, women, and children to
receive the long-awaited Messiah. It must have been a shock to the old priest!
Have you ever prayed for something that you wanted so much, but God seemed strangely silent to your requests? Have you ever poured out your heart to your Heavenly Father about the desires of your heart, only to feel like you've been put on hold by heaven's switchboards?
It's disconcerting to say the least! It can bring on a case of "disbelief" when God does answer later than you think He should.
God knows what He is doing. He has everything under control, and there is nothing that comes upon you and I that He isn't ready for, or equipped to handle. He can be trusted, whether we struggle to believe
Him or not. In my journey with God, I've learned one thing; that He has ways that are far above and beyond my capacity to comprehend or understand. He is still on His throne, and while I'm on my journey here, I can trust Him to lead me forward into great places that I may not yet understand with my finite mind.
More tomorrow,
as we begin to look at another individual who had no concept of what God was planning, but chose to follow Him implicitly.
