"And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the
livelihood that she had.” Luke 21:1-4
The world segregates people into classes. There's the wealthy class, the super-rich, the middle class, and those who struggle at above or below poverty level.
God's kingdom doesn't work that way!
Heaven is more interested with who is "sold-out" to its King than in who does, (or doesn't have) "stuff." The above verse is a prime example.
Read it again, and let this amazing reality wash over you; If you have given all that you have and are to Jesus, and recognize that it was Him who gave it to you in the first place...it's the best gift that anyone could ever give....no matter what "class" they happen to be in.
Lord, help me to stop comparing myself with others. Help me to look to You and You alone for my feelings of worth. Amen.
