Your Open Word e-Devotional for September 2nd

Published: Sat, 09/02/17

Hello ,

Do you sometimes get stuck in a rut of uselessness?  Are there days when you don't feel like you're worth much?  I hope not, but if you find yourself living there from time to time, remember, you are special and there is no one quite like you.  The word of God is clear that you and I are fearfully and wonderfully made.  God doesn't make junk! Here are a couple of quotes I gleaned to share with you:

Use what talents you possess: The woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.  Henry Van Dyke, Bits & Pieces, March 31, 1994, p. 16.

It is almost as presumptuous to think you can do nothing as to think you can do everything.  Phillips Brooks.

We all have days when we tend to minimize our own individual worth, but remember, Jesus would have come down and died for just you.  That makes you VERY valuable!

"But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."  Titus 3:4-7 (ESV)

Have a great day and God bless!
