Hello ,
"As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our
transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12 NKJV
I found myself gong back, over and over again; back to the places where I had blown it in my life. I would catch myself revisiting the challenging places where my sin appeared so large that I often
couldn't move past it. There it was; day after lonely day, staring me in the face and mocking my stuttering claim to forgiveness.
Then, I met Bill.
Bill was a smiling young pastor who had a faith that was strong, unwavering, and real. One day I was lamenting my sordid life experiences and telling Bill how I just couldn't seem to
move past it all.
Listen to his words of reply to me: "God has thrown your past into the depths of the sea. Not only that, but He's put up a 'no fishing' sign Mike. He is very sad that you keep bringing up what He sacrificed His own Son to take care of."
I have to admit that his words hit me hard, and I asked God to help me
to accept His forgiveness as a fact...not merely a fleeting feeling that ebbed and flowed with whatever circumstance I happened to be encountering.
How is it with you? Do you still revisit your past mistakes, blunders, and sinfulness on a regular basis? Do you beat yourself up about these things and wish that you could just move past it all?
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 NKJV
Have you taken God at His word about this truth?
Have a great day and God
bless!
