Your Open Word e-Devotional for April 9th

Hello ,

"For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."   2 Corinthians 12:10

Yesterday I asked a very pointed question of The Open Word subscriber family...and I got a good number of replies back.  Thank-you.  The question was very simple:

"Which does it take to be a real growing Christian?  Does it take a weak person, or does it take a strong person?

After being a pastor for a good number of years, it would be difficult to describe how many people have come to me over the years with basically the same statement..."Pastor Mike, I wish I could be a better Christian, but I'm just not that strong."

If you have ever felt that way, you are not alone.  I have felt this way more times than I care to elaborate on. I discovered however, that being a real, growing Christian has little to do with my strength, and much to do with God's.  I may be weak, but when I go to my Heavenly Father and pour out my heart to Him about my weakness, He bolsters my faith again with verses of scripture like the one that I have listed here in 2 Corinthians 12:10

When I am weak...because of my Creator, I am strong!

Have a great day and God bless!
