Once in a while my son Michael and I will hop inside the family vehicle and make our way to a local
nursing home. We don't personally know anyone that resides there, but if there is one thing that we have learned; the residents in those places love to have visitors.
We've gone to these places and just walked the halls, waving at people who are in their rooms, and stopping by to say hello whenever the opportunity arises. I play guitar,
so when we do go on these little excursions I usually take it with me and strum a hymn or two for the folks in their rooms. I can't tell you what a joy it is to visit them, and watch their faces light up when we sing an old song together.
It doesn't take much to make someone's day a little brighter. A kind word, a smile, or a
comment about how well they do something can bring sunshine into another person's day. I can't do everything...but I can do something!
How will you bring gladness into someone's heart today? Pray about it, and allow God to use you as an instrument of His joy and peace.
