A Happy Note from Pastor Mike Temple of The Open Word e-Devotionals

Published: Fri, 02/03/17

Hi ,

The weekend is upon us, and I want to send best wishes your way for a happy and safe Saturday and Sunday.  I'm excited about something, and I wanted to share the details with you quickly this evening.

I am always looking for ways to introduce people to my friend Jesus; how about you? We're seeing challenges, struggles, and fear wherever we look in our world today...and I believe that Jesus has answers to all of the things that perplex us. I want to do something to help others find the peace that passes all understanding during the tumultuous days ahead.

I have created a small folded card that specifically puts Bible promises into the hands of anyone that might receive it.  Here's a picture of the front:

So many people have lost their peace in the world.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if they would actually turn to their Heavenly Father for help?  I've designed the front of this card to be eye-catching, bold, and simple...and I hope that many people will actually read it when I hand it to them.

Here's a picture of the inside of the card:

Certainly there are more promises than these that I have listed on the card. There are also MANY more topics, but with the limited space that I had during the design process I chose these specific verses.

Here's a picture of the back of this little card:

My goal in passing this little card out, is to have the opportunity to tell more people about Jesus through The Open Word Daily e-Devotionals.  We already have hundreds and hundreds of subscribers, but I'm excited at the thought that we might be able to increase our subscriber base with our friends and neighbors with this little card.

I need your help!

Would you be willing to distribute a small number of these cards in the area where YOU live?  Here are a few ideas for how you could distribute them:

1. Put them in any envelopes that you might be sending out.

2. Hand them to a cashier at the grocery or convenience store.

3. Give them to someone that you have been in conversation with.

I've even seen little informational pamphlets like these in public bathrooms.  However you decide to distribute them, I would pray that they reach someone who really feels a need for peace in their lives.

If that's something that you might be willing to consider, I will gladly send out 10 of these little cards to anyone who asks me for them.  There's no charge, and I will even pay for the postage that it takes to get them into your hands.  I will need the correct spelling of your name, and your postal address.  I have only ordered 1000, so I will do what I can to get these into the hands of those willing to help me as quickly as possible.

Can I ask you to pray for this endeavor?

I recognize that all of my efforts aren't the least bit valuable unless God blesses them. Would you please pray that God's Holy Spirit will travel ahead of these little cards before they are distributed?

I have no idea what to expect.

I may not receive any interested subscribers that will help me distribute these. I can certainly understand how busy people get, and I don't ever want anyone to think that I would use a "guilt trip" to try and get someone to help me.  I'm leaving that in God's hands...but I truly do want to see more people finding the peace that only He can give.

If you're willing to help me distribute 10 Peace Promise cards, please send me your full name and postal address.  I expect these little cards to arrive sometime after February 10th at my home, and I'll work hard to get them sent out to those who desire to receive them.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this note. If you are able to lift up this endeavor in your prayers over the next week or so, I would truly appreciate it.

Warmest Regards for a Wonderful Weekend,

Pastor Mike / The Open Word

P.S.  Thanks again for being a member of The Open Word Daily e-Devotionals.  I really do appreciate the fact that you open them, read them, and share them.  God bless!
