Hello ,
Angry? You could say that! When I looked at the bill for services rendered that I received, my mouth literally dropped open.
I had contacted an attorney to assist me with some legal matters, and after a five minute phone conversation and two short e-mails (one of which she had sent to ask me for my physical address), I was astonished at the final fee staring back at me. I'm not one to complain about such matters if any real value is given, but no legal counsel had even transpired at this point. "Two hundred and forty dollars for what?" I gasped.
I've terminated her services. I wanted to send a note of complaint for such ridiculous billing, but I was afraid she'd charge me another $100 just to read it!
I'm so thankful that God doesn't charge me a minute by minute fee everytime I open up the lines of communication. I can boldly approach the Creator with anything that happens to be on my mind, and I can be sure that everything I bring is listened to and that an appropriate response won't be far behind.
Phone Lines are Open
When someone has treated me badly, I can go to my Divine Counselor and tell the secrets of my heart. As I pour out my heart, I'm reminded that Christ was treated badly, and that with Divine help I can get through it, too. When a personal situation has me frustrated, the heavenly "phone" lines are always open. Someone is always listening, and comfort during these times often comes as quickly as I can send up a cry for help.
"Are you tired? Worn out?...Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life" (Matthew 11:28).
No matter what is going on in our lives, God wants to hear what we have to say. There's always a listening ear, and we'll never look at a shocking bill for services rendered. Come to think of it, I think I'll pray about this incredible bill I received from the attorney right now!
Have a great day and God bless!
