Hello ,
You may
recall that a few weeks ago I sent out an urgent prayer request regarding my health. It appeared that I may have experienced a T.I.A. (transient ischemic attack), and I asked all our Open Word family members to lift me up in prayer.
The response was over-whelming.
I get a little bit choked up when I think of how many people were lifting me up in prayer. So many of you sent me notes of encouragement, and told me that you were going to ask others to lift me up in prayer as well.
From the bottom of my heart...Thank-you!
I believe in the power of prayer, and I could feel that people were bringing my situation to our
Heavenly Father. It was truly a sobering time for me, and I can honestly say that I was quite concerned over the symptoms that I was experiencing.
Here are the results of my many, many tests:
I had a barrage of tests, including a CT Scan, an MRI, ultrasounds on my carotid arteries, blood work-ups, and a number of other things. Every test came back negative, and I am breathing many sighs of relief. The doctor told me last week, "Mike, I am scratching my head here. I still don't know what you experienced, but all of our tests indicate that you are a very healthy 54 year old
man." I believe that the power of prayer was evident in the results that I received.
A wake-up call.
Experiencing these health
symptoms was a real wake-up call for me. I am re-thinking many things; including attempting to eat healthier, exercising more, practicing deeper breathing, and drinking plenty of water (I especially struggle in that area). We are fearfully and wonderfully made, and this experience reminded me that I need to be more vigilant in minding my health.
What can I lift up for you?
Now, what prayer request can I lift up on your behalf? Please send me any prayer request(s) that you may have on your heart. They will stay confidential, and I will lift them up to our Heavenly Father on your behalf. It's
a privilege to pray for one another. If you want to shoot me an e-mail with your request, I will pray specifically for your situation (or the situation of a loved one).
It makes my heart thankful that we have such a powerful resource (prayer) available to each of us. May God continue to lean in close to you and
yours!
Warmest Regards,
P.S. Please feel free to share this e-mail with any of your family and friends that
may not be on our Open Word subscriber's list, but were praying for me anyway. Please let them know that I do appreciate it.
