Hello ,
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of over 200 people, he asked the question, "Who would like this $20 bill? Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to
give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this."
He proceeded to crumple the $20 dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. Now who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air.
"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. Because it did not decrease in
value, it is still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value in God's eyes. To Him, dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to Him.
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in
kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:4-9 (ESV)
What a great lesson for all of us, especially the really crumpled ones
like me!
Have a great day and God bless!
