Hello ,
God is good...all the time! A few days ago I sent you a letter regarding
some expansion projects that I felt called to implement with The Open Word Daily e-Devotionals. God has given us the resources to begin the first phase of some of those changes. I have just spoken with a website technician today, and we are working together to build a new website for The Open Word. Here are a few of the changes that will take place with the new site:
A cleaner / more stream-lined look - Up until now, The Open Word has been a very small website that was dedicated to signing up subscribers for the Daily e-Devotionals. That dynamic isn't going to change, but we're going to add a great deal of other features to the new site. We're doing our level best to make it easy to navigate, and something that you would be excited to send your friends to.
Audio Devotional Page - I was blessed to have a weekday radio devotional called The Open Word for 7+ years from 2003 to 2010. We will be putting an audio page in place that will allow visitors to stop by and listen to audio devotionals. I will try to keep fresh material on this page on a regular
basis.
Article Page - I've had the privilege of writing for a number of organizations. I am having my webmaster put up a number of these article titles (and new article titles as they become available), that you will be free to peruse at your convenience.
Sermon Page
- I'm a preacher at heart. I am a full time pastor, and I share Biblical messages with a congregation regularly. As space and bandwidth allows, we will place sermons on this page so that you (or your friends) can listen to them at your convenience.
Video Page - I have a great face for radio, but now and then I get in front of a camera. If there is anything that might be a blessing to our subscribers, I want to make sure that we post it. Lifting up Jesus is what it's all about.
Prayer Request Page - I believe in the power of prayer! The prayer request page will allow you (or your friends) to send me prayer requests to lift heavenward. Let's pray for each
other.
Resource Page - My goal is to create free e-books on a variety of topics that can shared your friends and family. The resource page will have items that you can use to strengthen your relationship with God, and to share with your friend and family in positive ways.
Blog Page -
I'll do my best to update the blog page on a regular basis. It will let you in on the latest news and happenings. I may share a link or update that I believe would be a blessing to you. I hope you'll feel free to check back often.
Please keep The Open Word in your prayers!
This is new territory for me, and I want to make solid decisions for the direction of The Open Word. Would you please keep me in prayer as we build this website? There may be a few technical glitches as we go along, so please be patient with me. I'm a "non-techy" kind of guy, and I also have a decent sized congregation that gets a priority on my
scheduled time, so I'll need prayers for good decision making.
For our subscribers who have given prayers and resources to this project, thank-you from the bottom of my heart. There is no way that I could've launched the first phase of these projects without you. God has been faithful to me, and I am
grateful for the opportunity to lift Him up as the answer to a hurting world.
I'll keep you "in the loop' as we go along, and I'll let you know when we roll this site out (probably within the next month). I covet your prayers!
