Hello ,
The latest survey (2021) from Arizona Christian University’s Cultural Research Center found that belief in God has declined between generations:
- 83% of those in the Silent Generation (born 1927-1945) profess belief in God
- 79% of baby boomers (born 1946-1964) believe in God
- 70% of Generation Xers (born 1965-1983) identified as Christian.
- 43% of millennials (born between 1984 and 2002) said they “don’t know, care, or believe that God exists.” Only 57 percent said they were Christian.
I have heard a number of people attempt to explain why there appears to be a decline in the generational acceptance of a Divine Creator. I haven't listened to any single reason that made sense to me, of why people would doubt God's existence.
I have however, been in the same place at times in my own life; wondering if there truly was a God Who could love someone as challenging as me.
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)
We can argue with someone, about the existence of God all day long, but in the final analysis does argument bring about more convincing evidence that God exists?
In my own life, nothing brought me closer to wanting to examine God's existence than being able to witness a loving and positive change in another human being who turned to Him for help.
Our story matters!
Nothing tells more convincingly of God's love, and ability to save than a life that has experienced a spiritual change...from the inside-out.
"Lord, help me to show others Your love, by the way that I live my life. Amen!"
Have a great day and God bless!
