Hello ,
After my wife Roberta's accident in 1990, I bought her an album that contained a song that she particularly loved. It's a Christian song by artist, Cynthia Clawson, and it's entitled "I Will Survive."Here are the lyrics:
Looking ahead is just a little bit easier
When you look at where you’ve been
I can believe that we can move mountains
For you’ve carried me through every valley I knew
If it wasn’t for you, I don’t know where I’d be
I just know that for me
I can rest in your promise of love
I will survive, I am alive
I stand beside the crucified one
I can go on, I will be strong
For my strength to live is not my own
I will survive
Sometimes it seems the pain of life will take over me
And I fear I’ll lose again
But I realize to fight to the finish
That I’ll just lean on you
And that you’ll pull me through
And the battle is already won
I will survive, I am alive
I stand beside the crucified one
I can go on, I will be strong
For my strength to live is not my own
I will survive
I am alive, I stand beside the crucified one
I can go on, I will be strong
For my strength to live is not my own
I will survive, I am alive
And with your love to guide me I know
That my past is far behind me
And your spirit still reminds me
Through the changes in my life
I will survive
Just like a flower in winter’s snow
Waiting for spring
I face the darkness so cold and alone
Looking for light, waiting to sing
I want to sing!
I will survive, I am alive
I stand beside the crucified one
I can go on, I will be strong
For my strength to live is not my own
I will survive
There are definitely times in all of our lives when we think that we may not be able to go a step further, and that THIS TIME we many not pull through. This can happen in the physical, mental, or emotional realm, but none feels quite so devastating as when we feel it in the spiritual realm.
If you (or someone you know), is feeling especially burdened in any of these areas, please listen to the song today (or share it with that person you know who may be struggling).
Have a great day and God bless!
