Have you ever been excited about giving a gift to someone?
I mean, REALLY excited?
Why all the excitement? Isn't it because you believe that the person receiving it will benefit from it, or perhaps it's something that they have wanted for quite some time?
God loves to give us good gifts.
Sometimes people see God as this exacting Oger that needs to be "talked into" giving good things to His creation. Today's passage dispels that idea. God is a giver of good gifts, and He can be trusted with our petitions.
