Hello ,
"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
When my son was about 3 years old, (that's him in the picture), I was preaching at a neighboring church, and our family was eating lunch after the service with members of the congregation at a potluck they were having.
I had been talking for a while, when my wife approached me and said, "Do you know where Mikey is?" I told her that I thought that he was with her.
She had thought that he was with me.
Our other children were busy playing with other kids, and thought he was with both of us.
He was clearly missing!
To say that I was anxious would be an understatement. We began looking everywhere for him. The church was near a busy road, and some of the worst fears crossed my mind as we raced around the church property looking for our little boy.
Things were getting serious.
We finally stopped, gathered into a circle with other church members, and said a quick (but fervent) prayer for our little guy. Almost as soon as we finished saying "amen," we heard a young man's voice from inside the church. "I found him!"
He was fast asleep under a pew in the back of the church.
I have often reflected on that challenging few moments that we had as parents. We didn't know where he was, but he was never out of God's sight.
The verse that I shared this morning plainly tells us that God goes with us, and is beside us every step of the way. What a blessing to know that He keeps us under His watchful eye, even when we lose our way.
Have a great day and God bless!
