Hello ,
Forever Friends started in 2003, and since then their sales have risen a staggering 524 percent. "We're not a million-dollar business," says the
owner Bob Walczyk, "but we're doing very, very well."
Today, the 700 pet funeral homes across the U.S. are just one segment of the nearly $53 billion pet care industry. Pet funeral services can also
include bronze grave markers ($1,765), velvet-lined caskets ($1,135), hand-veneered urns (up to $1,500), and garden sculptures ($2,750). Walczyk says that people seldom complain about the prices when it comes to burying their pets. "They just tell me what they want and they take out their checkbook."
I was amazed when I read this report, and I wondered to myself how many children in poor countries didn't have anything to eat today while
people were paying thousands to bury their pets.
As a pastor, I know that this is not always a popular message. Ask any pastor what he would rather not preach on, and invariably "stewardship" will be on the list.
God calls us to be good stewards of the money that He has entrusted to us. He has given us the ability to help ourselves, and to assist us in helping others. How we spend
our money, our time, and our resources does make a difference!
"Lord, help me remember that the gifts that You supply are precious. Help me to be a good steward for You.
Amen!"
Have a great day and God
bless!
