Hello ,
"The oil can is mightier than the sword." -- Everett Dirksen
My wife's
Uncle Everett once worked as a manager in the service department of a automobile dealership. Whenever we would visit him, he would always give me a parting sentence as I was climbing into our vehicle: "Don't forget to check your oil in this car....it's important that you do that!"
Oil keeps
working parts moving freely, and it's lubricating properties are absolutely vital to the maintenance and "health" of the machinery that it is used on.
Daily
maintenance is important to the Christian's life. Think of Bible study, prayer, meditation on God's Word, and sharing the good news of Jesus with others as "oiling" the many "parts" of the "spirituality machine." Without any one of these activities, the spiritual life begins to get "squeaky," and can feel like it's getting worn out.
Are you
"oiling" your "spiritual machinery" today? Just a friendly reminder from The Open Word.
Have a great
day and God bless!
