Our text today is very clear that there is an enemy that comes in like a thief. Thieves don't generally knock on our front doors, and ask to come in so they can steal our belongings. They usually come in through another avenue.
The same is true of the spiritual "thieves" that try to enter our lives and wreak havoc in that realm. The evil one will try to gain a foothold in any way that he can, and we must daily ask God to be in our lives, and to direct our spiritual paths. It might be a busy schedule that is spinning out of control, or a penchant to overdo in some area.
I'm thankful for a God of second chances, but I'm also grateful that He wants to work in our lives every moment of every day, so that we can escape the spiritual traps that are often set for each one of us.
It's more clear than ever to me...God needs to be in control of everything in my life! Anything that I hold back from Him has the potential to hurt me spiritually. I'm thankful that God wants to be so intimately connected with me and you.
