Hello ,
"You don't know what you had, until it's gone."
Have you ever heard that old adage? Within the past week, I have been struggling with hearing in my left ear. It has also been quite sore.
After speaking with a friend in the medical profession last evening, he has convinced me that I am probably suffering from an outer ear infection, and that I need to make an appointment today. I didn't realize just how blessed I was to be able to listen to people talking with me, until I struggled to actually hear them.
I have found in my life, that I often take things for granted. They've just always been there, and so I don't think about them very much. Well, I've been thinking a LOT about my hearing, and (although it's been kind of painful), it HAS helped me focus my attention on just how good our God IS to us, every day!
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23
This scripture text was placed on the wall (in back of the pulpit), in the church that I grew up in, in New York State. I didn't think about it much, as a kid...but I sure do think about it quite often, now.
As 2020 winds down, there can be a tendency to look at all of the bad things that have happened this past year. It has been a challenging year, but I think you will agree with me, that God has been good to us in so many ways. What blessings have you received over the past year, that you can take a few moments to dwell on, and thank God for?
Have a great day and God bless!
