Hello ,
My mother always had a Bible on her bedside stand, and every Bible I had ever seen sitting there always seemed to be almost completely worn out. She had 4 different Bibles that I can recall, while I was growing up (one at a time, of course), and each one seemed to have a cover that was tattered and worn in the places where her fingers would hold it, and the pages would be dog-eared from the many times that she flipped back and forth through
them.
I can remember many times (as a young boy), when I would come down into our kitchen in the morning, and my mom would be sitting at the table, reading her Bible quietly. I didn't think much about it then, but that picture has had a huge impact on my life as an adult.
According to statistical data that I have read in recent years, God's word isn't read as much it as used to be. The busyness of life can sometimes seem to close those windows of opportunity to read the scriptures, so we have to be intentional, I believe that the world (not only), needs people who read their Bibles, but also needs people who have a relationship with the author of the book.
In this new year, do you have any spiritual goals that you would like to accomplish? Mine is to pray and study my Bible more. I'm a pastor, yes, but I can certainly improve in those areas of my life, too.
'm praying for you, as you seek to tighten your relationship with your Creator in 2021.
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17. NKJV
Have a great day and God bless!
