Hello ,
Last evening at about 10:50 pm, I received a “frost alert” on my smartphone from my weather app.
If only I had known sooner! It was the first I had heard about it, and it seemingly came out of nowhere.
I dutifully put on my work clothes, put a hat and headlamp on, and went down to our garden to pick the remaining tomatoes that were on the plants that we have there. Frost is a tomato killer, and I wanted to make sure that we got as many of them inside as possible.
You can see a picture of the boxes of tomatoes attached attached to this email. I spent almost an hour picking the fruit from the vine during a time when I should’ve been sleeping. It was unexpected, but had to be done.
As I was quickly gathering the fruit and loading it into boxes, I was reminded of the council that we are given in the Bible to be ready to share the good news of Jesus Christ at any time. “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
We never know when we will be called to the task of bringing someone to Jesus (even possibly during times that aren’t convenient), but we need to be ready, willing, and able, nonetheless. It’s not always an easy work, but it’s a labor of love that can bear much fruit.
Have a great day and God bless!
