Hello ,
A Chinese zoo's "African lion" was exposed as a fraud when the dog used as the substitute king of the beasts started barking. The "lion" was actually a Tibetan mastiff, a large and long-haired breed of dog. One customer complained, "The zoo is absolutely cheating us. They are trying to disguise the dogs as lions." Apparently the zoo also put a white fox in a leopards' den.
One zoo official claims that their lion had been taken to a breeding facility and the dog was just a temporary solution.
When I read this account, I was reminded of a couple of passages of scripture.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, is like a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour..." 1 Peter 5:8
"Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed..." Revelation 5:5
The bible tells us that the devil "is like" a roaring lion, but it also tells us that Jesus actually IS the Lion of Judah. Knowing this, can we have anything to fear if God is for us?
Lord, help me always to remember that You have already won the battle, and that I am on the winning side when I partner with You. In Jesus name, amen!
