Hello ,
Here is an e-Devotional that I sent out in 2013:
According to Gallup Poll's 2013 "State of the American Workplace" survey American workers are growing more disengaged from their work. Here's what the poll found:
- Of the approximately 100 million people in America who hold full-time jobs, 30 percent are engaged and inspired at work.
- 50 percent are disengaged, or what Gallup described as "kind of present, but not inspired by their work or their managers."
- 20 percent are actively disengaged.
- Only 22 percent of U.S. employees are "engaged and thriving."
- Gallup estimates that actively disengaged employees cost between $450 to $550 billion per year.
Disengaged employees are more likely to steal from their companies, negatively influence their coworkers, miss workdays, and drive customers away. Engaged employees usually drive the innovation, growth, and revenue that their companies desperately need.
"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." Ecclesiastes 9:10
As Christians, we are called upon to be fully engaged in whatever work we do for others. The world is watching, and with God's "moment-by-moment" help, we can do what He has called us to do.
Have a great day and God bless!
