Hello ,
Yesterday, I shared the iconic photo with you of this young boy named Christian who received the flag at his father's funeral in 2007 at the age of 8 years of age.
Where is he now?
According to the stories that I have read, Christian has been enrolled in the University of Alabama as a management systems major. But here's the amazing part: For years after his dad's death, Christian and his mother participated in a program that began from their experience, and bestows Christmas gifts to other children of soldiers that have recently fallen in the line of duty.
Christian has been able to take the pain that he experienced as a young boy, and use it as a catalyst for reaching out to other children who are going through the same experience that he had in 2007.
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 (ESV)
Drawing from our own experiences when reaching out to others, may be the most powerful influence that we can have with those who are hurting. Remembering this in our daily encounters with a hurting world, can give us strength and courage to move forward in the love of Jesus Christ.
Have a great day and God bless!
