"You cannot always control how people will treat you, but you CAN always control how you will respond."
I'm not sure where I heard that or saw it in life's travels, but I've been sharing that with my children for years. There are people who will say and do some pretty nasty things to us...often without provocation. We get to choose how we will respond to that. Why would we choose to bring ourselves down to their level and be nasty
back?
There are times when a firm, resolute response is in order, but to wallow in the same "mud" that someone else is slinging keeps us stuck in the same place that they are. That's not healthy for us..or them.
I've never been hurt by something ugly that I didn't say.
This is the day that the Lord has made...let us rejoice and be glad in it. Life's too short to get caught up in ugliness.
"A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1
Have a great day and God bless!
