Hello ,
There are seasons in life when the next step
feels obvious.
And then there are seasons when it doesn’t.
You pray.
You think.
You weigh the
options.
And still the road ahead feels foggy.
Scripture does not ignore those moments.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6).
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).
Notice something about that image of light. A lamp does not illuminate miles of road. It simply reveals the next few steps.
In 1915, explorer Ernest Shackleton and his crew were stranded in Antarctica after their ship,
the Endurance, was crushed by ice. Months later, Shackleton and a small team attempted an 800-mile journey across the violent Southern Ocean in a small lifeboat to reach help.
The journey was filled with storms and freezing conditions. Navigation was incredibly difficult because the skies were often clouded. But their navigator, Frank Worsley, waited
for brief breaks in the clouds to take quick measurements of the stars. Sometimes he had only seconds of visibility.
Those brief glimpses were enough to keep them on course.
Eventually, they reached land and were able to rescue the entire crew.
Guidance does not always arrive as a full map.
Sometimes it comes as small moments of clarity—just enough to keep you aligned.
We often want certainty before we move. But God’s guidance often works differently. He asks for trust first, then reveals the next step.
A lamp for the feet.
If you are facing a season where the future feels unclear, do not wait for perfect visibility. Pay attention to the light you have. What truth is already in front of you? What step of obedience is already clear?
Faith rarely requires that you see the whole journey.
It asks that you walk faithfully with the light given today.
And as you move forward, the path becomes clearer—one step at a time.
Have a great day and God bless!
