Hello ,
Here's a novel strategy for killing some of the estimated 2 million brown tree snakes that are wiping out animals in Guam: send in the dead mice.
That's right, scientists are lacing dead mice with painkillers, attaching them to little parachutes, and then
dropping them from helicopters. If all goes well, the tree snakes will take the bait and die. In other words, from the snakes' perspective this will seem just too good to be true-a juicy, tasty-looking, easy-pickings meal with no strings attached...except that it's laced with poison.
I was amazed when I read about this account, and the spiritual
applications are too glaringly obvious for us to ignore.
"There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12
Lesson?
As Christians, we dare not trust our senses to steer us toward what is right or wrong in every situation. We desperately need to measure everything by the Word of God. It's the only antidote for living on the "straight and narrow" way.
Have a great day and God bless!
