Part 4
Hello ,
“Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” — Galatians 6:9
“Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come.”
— Habakkuk
2:3
Delay can be one of the most difficult arenas in the fight of faith. Prayers linger unanswered, healing takes longer than hoped, and promises appear distant. Yet Scripture repeatedly affirms that waiting is not wasted time but formative time.
A farmer once explained that planting season demands patience. After sowing seeds, there is no visible progress for weeks. Beneath the soil, however, life is unfolding — roots forming, growth beginning unseen. The temptation to dig up the soil to check progress would destroy the very process he trusted. Faith during delay resembles that farmer’s patience: trusting unseen growth beneath the surface.
Paul’s encouragement in Galatians highlights perseverance as the condition for harvest.
Weariness often arises not from hardship itself but from prolonged uncertainty.
Habakkuk’s words remind us that divine timing may stretch beyond human expectations, yet fulfillment remains certain.
Fighting the good fight of faith in seasons of delay means resisting discouragement and continuing faithful living even without
immediate results. Waiting becomes active trust rather than passive resignation. It is the daily choice to pray, serve, and believe while timelines remain unclear.
Delay also reveals motives — whether faith depends on outcomes or on relationship with God. When expectations shift from immediate answers to enduring trust, waiting
transforms into spiritual formation.
Patience deepens character, refines hope, and strengthens resilience.
Just as seeds germinate invisibly before emerging into daylight, God’s work often
unfolds beneath the surface of circumstances. The harvest may not arrive when expected, but perseverance ensures readiness when it does. Holding on through delay is itself part of the fight — a declaration that God’s promises remain trustworthy even when the calendar seems silent.
