Hello ,
There are seasons in the Christian life when everything feels clear. Prayers seem answered. Doors open. The path ahead appears steady and illuminated.
And then there are seasons when the way grows dim.
- Circumstances do not make
sense.
- Suffering feels unexplained.
- Heaven seems silent.
It is in those moments that faith becomes more than words.
Scripture tells us, “For we walk by faith, not by sight”
(2 Corinthians 5:7).
Faith is not pretending everything is fine. It is choosing to trust the character of God when clarity is
withheld. We live in a world marked by conflict, loss, and brokenness, but none of that means God has surrendered His throne. The cross and the resurrection stand as evidence that evil does not have the final word.
Another anchor is found in Proverbs 3:5–6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your
ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Notice that the promise of direction follows trust. God does not require us to understand everything. He asks us to acknowledge Him.
History offers a powerful illustration.
In 1874, missionary John Nevins Andrews sailed to Europe to share the gospel. He had recently lost his wife and was raising children while stepping into unfamiliar territory. The work ahead was uncertain and demanding. There were no guarantees of visible success. Yet he moved
forward, not because he understood every outcome, but because he trusted the One who had called him. His obedience laid foundations for a growing global mission work that extended far beyond what he could see in his lifetime.
Sometimes obedience precedes understanding.
When storms arise, the temptation is to assume God does not see or does not care. Yet Scripture reveals a Savior who entered human suffering. The cross shows us that God is not distant from pain; He bears it. The resurrection assures us that suffering is temporary in light of eternity.
To bow the knee is not weakness. It is alignment. It is acknowledging that God’s wisdom exceeds ours and that His purposes stretch beyond the horizon of our current experience. It is lifting our eyes above present confusion and placing confidence in the eternal King.
We may not understand the purpose of His plan
today.
We may not see how present pain fits within the larger story.
But we know the One who holds eternity.
And that is enough!
