Hello ,
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” — Psalm 51:10
There’s something about spring that makes people want to open the windows, let the air in, and clear out what’s been sitting too long. Closets get emptied. Garages get sorted. Things
once kept “just in case” are finally thrown away.
It’s not just about cleanliness—it’s about renewal.
In 1986, after years of neglect, the Statue of Liberty underwent a massive restoration. Layers
of corrosion, internal damage, and structural wear had quietly built up over decades. From the outside, she still stood tall—but internally, she needed repair. Engineers didn’t tear her down; they carefully removed what was damaged, reinforced what mattered, and restored her integrity from the inside out.
That’s the work we’re stepping into over the
next seven days.
Spiritual spring cleaning isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about addressing what’s been ignored. It’s about clearing out resentment that’s been justified, habits that have been normalized, distractions that have slowly taken priority, and thought patterns that no longer serve truth or life.
Like David in Psalm 51, this is not surface-level adjustment—it’s a request for inner renovation.
Over the next week, we’re going to walk through specific areas that often accumulate quietly: the heart, the mind, relationships, habits,
priorities, and spiritual focus. Each day will bring one area into the light—not for condemnation, but for clarity. Because what stays hidden stays in control.
Scripture consistently shows that transformation begins with awareness and surrender. Not striving harder, but allowing God access to what we’ve kept compartmentalized. You don’t
clean a house by ignoring the mess—you open the door, turn on the light, and start removing what doesn’t belong.
So today is simple: acknowledge the areas you’ve been avoiding. Not with guilt—but with honesty. Because renewal doesn’t begin when everything is perfect. It begins when you’re willing to let God into what isn’t.
