Hello ,
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and
take heart and wait for the Lord.” — Book of Psalms 27:14
In the early days of modern aviation, pilots were trained to rely not only on what they saw out the window but also on their instruments. One tragic lesson emerged repeatedly: when pilots trusted their senses in heavy fog instead of
the instruments, spatial disorientation could lead to catastrophe. Their feelings told them they were flying level when they were actually descending.
Experienced pilots learned something critical — sometimes you must ignore what you feel and trust the instruments.
Faith can work the same way.
Waiting on God can feel uncomfortable because our emotions often push us in the opposite direction. We want immediate clarity, immediate answers, immediate relief. But the spiritual life often unfolds at a different pace.
David wrote the words of Psalm 27 during a period of uncertainty and danger. Yet instead of rushing ahead or collapsing in despair, he repeated a phrase twice in the same verse: wait for the Lord.
Waiting is not passive.
In Scripture, waiting is an active posture of trust. It means continuing to walk faithfully even when the full picture has not yet appeared. It means believing that God is working behind the scenes in ways we cannot yet see.
History
is filled with examples of this kind of patience. Many of the great cathedrals in Europe took generations to complete. The craftsmen who laid the first stones knew they would never see the finished structure. Yet they worked carefully, trusting that what they were building would one day stand in beauty and strength.
God often builds lives the same
way.
The chapters of our story unfold slowly. Prayers sometimes take time to be answered. Character is formed through seasons we would never have chosen.
But waiting with God is never wasted
time.
While we wait, He shapes our faith, strengthens our patience, and prepares us for what lies ahead.
Stillness, trust, and waiting are not signs of weakness. They are signs of confidence that God’s timing is
wiser than our own.
So when the path forward feels unclear, the invitation of Scripture remains steady and simple:
Be strong.
Take heart.
And wait for the Lord.
Have a great day and God bless!
