Hello ,
In the mid-1800s, a man named George Washington Carver spent long hours alone in a modest
laboratory, studying soil, plants, and crops. He was not working in a grand cathedral or standing behind a pulpit. He was tending to the earth.
Carver once said that his scientific discoveries came through prayerful reflection and attentiveness to God in his daily work. His life reminds us that God is often found not in spectacle, but in
attentiveness.
Most of life unfolds quietly. It is made up of routines—getting ready for the day, preparing meals, answering responsibilities, caring for others. These moments can feel spiritually neutral, even forgettable. Yet Scripture tells us otherwise.
Paul writes, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17).
There is no distinction here between sacred tasks and ordinary ones. Faith is not reserved for worship services alone. It is meant to permeate everyday
life.
Jesus Himself spent the majority of His earthly years in relative obscurity. Before any public miracle or sermon, He lived a quiet life of work, obedience, and faithfulness. Heaven was fully present in those unseen years. God was shaping character long before the crowds appeared.
We often assume that God shows up only when something important is happening. But the truth is, God is already present in the ordinary rhythms of our lives.
- The small decisions.
- The quiet
moments.
- The unnoticed faithfulness.
Today, instead of waiting for a dramatic spiritual moment, invite God into what is already before you. Offer your routine to Him. Walk with Him through the ordinary. That is where much of life—and faith—actually happens.
I want to share a link to an old song from the late 1960's that I have always loved. It's entitled 'Quiet Place," and I hope it blesses you as you contemplate that God is in the "Ordinary Days" if we invite Him to be.
Here's the link to that song: Quiet Place
Have a great day and God
bless!
