Hello ,
Luke 1:57–64
When Elizabeth gave birth, the community assumed the child would be named Zechariah. Tradition mattered more than revelation.
But obedience interrupted expectation.
Elizabeth insisted the child be named John. When Zechariah confirmed it in writing, “immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free” (Luke 1:64).
Silence ended where obedience began.
God did not restore Zechariah’s voice when he understood everything—but when he aligned himself with God’s word. Faith does not require full comprehension, only submission.
Many people remain spiritually muted not because God is silent—but because they resist alignment. When obedience comes first, clarity often follows.
Zechariah’s restored voice erupted in praise. When God gives voice back, it is meant to glorify Him, not defend ourselves.
This story reminds us that obedience is often the doorway to restoration.
