Hello ,
In 1854, during a bitter Boston winter, a young shoemaker named Edward Winslow noticed a child standing barefoot outside his shop window. Moved with compassion, he invited the boy inside, washed his feet, and fitted him with warm shoes. When the boy looked up and asked, “Are you Jesus?” Edward tearfully replied, “No, but I am one of His followers.”
The shoemaker didn’t just give the boy shoes—he gave him dignity. He gave him worth. He gave him a moment of divine love in a cold season.
The holidays often pressure us to buy more, give more, or spend more. But some of the greatest gifts require no money—only compassion. Kindness, patience, gentleness, and mercy are the kinds of
gifts that echo the heart of Christ. They are the gifts every person can give, no matter their age, income, or circumstance.
Scripture tells us, “Above all, put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” — Colossians 3:14
Here's a beautiful old Christmas Carol that you may enjoy listening to: It Came Upon A Midnight Clear
This holiday season, look for ways to give what truly matters. Your kindness may be the sermon someone remembers long after Christmas decorations are packed away. Kindness costs nothing, but its impact is eternal.
Have a great day and God bless!
