Hello ,
It's Friday...do you know where your God is? Sometimes, when
I get toward the end of my week I become weary from all of the "doing" and "busyness" of the daily grind. It is then that I need God the most. It is then that I need to be intentional about seeking His presence, more than ever.
Being weary breaks us down. It can turn us into spiritual robots that go through the motions of
spirituality, but gloss over the deep issues of life. When we get to this place (whether it's from all the work and weariness of our week, or from the myriad of things that loom on our personal horizons,) we need to STOP! Literally STOP!
Stop what we're doing for a few moments.(shut off the computer, the T.V., the iPod, the thousands of things that distract us.)
Stop what is racing through our overloaded
minds.
Stop where we're frantically going.
We need to STOP, go to a quiet place, allow God to calm us down, and meditate.
- Meditate on His love for
us.
- Meditate on His forgiveness.
- Meditate on the idea that life without Him is a relentless pursuit of non-eternal things.
- Meditate on the fact that with Him nothing is impossible.
It's a challenge to do this. Our minds at first will come up with many other things that we need to get done. God can help us however, to STOP for even a few moments and re-fuel our spirituality "tanks."
Running on empty is dangerous business...making a spiritual "pit-stop" is essential!
Have a great day and God bless!
