In December 2024, the family of Donna Majors expressed anguish after President Biden commuted the death sentence of her killer, saying he was “shown mercy where he had shown none” (New York Post, Dec 24 2024).
Mercy can seem unjust from a human standpoint. Yet divine mercy goes beyond fairness—it offers
forgiveness even when undeserved. God’s mercy gives hope even to those who appear beyond redemption.
If you feel hopeless or wronged, consider praying: “Lord, show me Your mercy in my pain, and teach me to trust Your compassion even when I don’t understand it.”
