Hello ,
Here's a devotional that I wrote while I was still in active ministry as the
Pastor of a congregation. I find that the principle still applies.
It's an out-of-the-way place; a quiet spot on my 200+ mile journey to attend some ministerial meetings. This little breakfast nook on the corner in a small mid-west town resides in a building where an old bank used to be. (The old bank vault still sits
in a corner of the place.) It's a sight for sore eyes after driving a while on the thruway.
The wall is brick, the colors earth-tone, and the atmosphere eclectic and quiet. The leather furniture that sits in clusters around the sprawling dining room is warm and inviting. There's not a bad spot in the entire place. The warm lighting casts a comfortable glow throughout, and I can
feel the tension leaving my shoulders as I sit down comfortably to pause for a few moments in my day.
Solitude can be a wonderful thing, and all too often many people just don't get much of it anymore. With all the things to do, people to see, and places to go, society has become a frenetic jungle of people starving for peace and solace.
Today, take a few moments and go find some solitude. Find a place that's comfortable, free from distractions, and quiet. It's good for the soul.
Have a great day and God bless!
