Hello ,
When I was a kid, this day every year was almost always the same. Here's a list of some of the things that happened at our house on "the day after."
1. We ate leftovers and secretly wished that we had not made so much.
2. We children tried to fix all the broken toys that hadn't lasted for more than a few hours the day before. If we had an item that required batteries, we usually tried to get our folks to take us to the store so that we could get some (or more).
3. We cleaned, and re-cleaned the house from all of the previous day's activities. Well, actually my mother did most of that, but I was usually involved in at least a few of the chores.
It was all kind of anti-climactic considering that the house had been buzzing with activity only 24 hours before that.
I recall feeling a bit of a let-down from it all.
When these kinds of feelings hit us, it's important to remember that God is always with us...even on the days like these. His love is not contingent on the way that we feel.
...lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:20 (KJV)
Whether we're up or down our Heavenly Father is always there!
Have a great day and God bless!
