Hello ,
One day the great Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo happened to overhear a group of people admiring his Pieta, a statue of Christ on His mother's knees after His death on the cross. One man attributed the work to another sculptor, much to the chagrin of Michelangelo, who took particular pride in the Pieta. Returning to the sculpture after dark that evening, Michelangelo carved his name on it so
that no similar mistake would occur in the future.
The scriptures make it clear that you and I have been purchased with a price. If we choose to, we can represent Jesus Christ as Christians. When we take on the name however, we must understand that we are responsible to the One Whose name we bear. Being recognized as
Christ's man, woman, boy, or girl is the greatest privilege that we can ever have, but it comes with responsibility to the One who died to give us this amazing gift.
"He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked." 1 John 2:6
How will you allow God to help you live up to your "Christian" label today? It's an important thought that we all too often take for granted.
Have a great day and God bless!
