Hello ,
In a recent NCAA cross-country championship held
in Riverside, California, 123 of the 128 runners missed a turn. One competitor, Mike Delcavo, stayed on the 10,000 meter course and began waving for fellow runners to follow him. Delcavo was able to convince only four other runners to go with him.
Asked what his competitors thought of his mid-race decision not to follow the crowd, Delcavo
responded, "They thought it was funny that I went the right way."
Following the crowd is a very easy thing to do. I've personally watched people of all ages do it, and have done my share of it too. Doing it in a spiritual sense can be a dangerous proposition though. We have a clear path that we are supposed to run that is
found in God's Word. To ignore it would be more foolish than following a crowd of runners who had missed their turn and were going the wrong way.
God's word is a light unto our feet, and a light unto our paths. It's the safest way to travel.
Have a great day and God bless!
