Hello ,
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he
is good.
His love endures forever."
Psalm 136:1
When I was a kid, my mother would have us each say something that we were thankful for BEFORE we ate Thanksgiving dinner, and I always saw it as a real hassle.
As an adult, I understand WHY she had us all participate in an exercise like that, but it
always seemed pressured and coerced in it's execution when I was young; like I HAD to be thankful about SOMETHING in order to get on with the meal.
I'm grateful that God doesn't require our thankfulness. Wouldn't it be awful if He constantly "nudging" us to say "thank-you" for everything?
I'm personally thankful that we serve a Creator Who blesses us anyway, whether we're thankful or not! It constrains me to self-reflect on all the ways that He is faithful.
Love that keeps score isn't love at all; its a transaction!
Have a great day and God bless!
