Hi ,
We recently moved from the home we’d lived in for the last 12 years. We still have boxes stacked in every spare space, it seems. Sometimes it feels like we’ll never get through them all.
Unpacking is not my favorite thing to do, especially when the place we bought is smaller than one we sold. Trying to find space for everything is a challenge, to say the least.
A couple days ago I decided to tackle the garage. It seemed like every square inch of floor was covered with boxes and other stuff. It was overwhelming! I almost threw up my hands in despair when I opened the door. It was so tempting to just walk away, but I knew it had to be done. Putting it off any longer was just not an option.
I decided to just start at the beginning. I grabbed the closest box and worked my way forward from there. I stacked, sorted and discarded, dust flying everywhere. Before I knew it I’d reached the opposite wall and at least had a pathway to work from. A couple hours later I had a garage again! There’s still a lot
of sorting to do, but at least I have room to do it now.
Some days can be like that. Our schedule is so cluttered, with so many demands on our time, it’s hard to know where to start. When that happens the best thing to do is just start at the beginning, with the task that’s closest at hand. Finishing that, even if it’s something small, will give you a little breathing room and a sense of accomplishment,
which will make everything else seem less overwhelming.
Of course, the best place to begin any day, no matter how busy, is in God’s Word. Matthew 6:33 tells us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (NKJV).
Got a busy day ahead of you? Feeling a little overwhelmed? Then start at the beginning. “Seek first the kingdom of God” and work your way out from there. Starting the day with Jesus puts everything else into perspective.

Have a great day and God bless!
