Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.

Proverbs 19:21

Have you ever thought that you KNEW exactly the path to take in life, only to learn (later on),  that there were some things that you may not have considered BEFORE making the decision?

I've done it so many times in my lifetime, that I'm ashamed to admit that being "headstrong" is something that God is still working with me on. 

Don't get me wrong; I want to do God's will. There have been times in my earthly journey however, when I THOUGHT I knew the correct way, only to discover that I was wrong. If I had sought God's counsel through HIs Holy Word, I wouldn't have made some of the blunders that I've made in my life.

Proverbs 19:21 gives us an admonition that we would do well to remember. God's counsel is going to stand forever, so why not seek it now?

You and I will inevitably encounter the need to know what God's counsel would be in a given situation. Only as we turn our hearts towards Him and HIS will, are we able to make decisions that can have eternal effects for good.

It's a comfort to recall this when we're faced with important decisions.
