Hello ,
And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Matthew 6:7
I have her old Bible in my office.
Every time I look at it, it reminds me that I need to spend more time on my knees than I do.
My mother was a woman of prayer, and that old Bible (that's really quite a dilapidated old book) is stuffed full of her prayer lists for people that she lifted up on a daily basis.
She didn't pray just to pray.
She wasn't the type of person who would babble on with the "busy work" of repeating some "formula" that she had been told to say every day.
Her prayers were conversations with God, lifting up those that were on her mind. Prayer (to her), was talking to a friend who also cared about the people on her list, and had the power to help them in ways that she couldn't.
Take a moment and hold your breath for as long as you can.
If you did this exercise, how long was it before you wanted to take another breath?
What would our prayers be like if we saw them as important as breathing?
God awaits our petitions to Him, and He doesn't keep "office hours."
Have a great day and God bless!
