Hi ,

"For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  

Romans 5:6-8

If salvation was earned by us being "good," this verse would have to be torn from the scriptures. 

I had an older pastor once tell me, "We don't get good to come to God. We come to God to get good." 

I'm so grateful that the only perquisite for having the opportunity to be saved, is that I'm a sinner who needs a Savior. 

I definitely qualify!
